Warren Haynes has made a career out of dipping into the past to move forward.

Haynes spent 25 years with the Allman Brothers Band, romping through their classic catalog while adding new gems. The singer/guitar god toured with members of the Grateful Dead and rearranged Jerry Garcia standards for orchestras, including the Boston Pops last year. His own group, Gov’t Mule, has recorded a dozen albums with a score of collaborators — 2013’s “Shout!” alone saw the band working with Elvis Costello, Grace Potter, Dave Matthews, Steve Winwood and more.
